LOVING GOD, LOVING PEOPLE, CHANGING THE WORLD
The Mission of First Assembly of God, New Castle, PA is to empower followers of Christ to grow in Christ-likeness and servant leadership, and to be agents of reconciliation in our community and world.
OUR VALUES: We value...
Bible Centered Preaching and Teaching
We believe that anointed preaching and teaching is the facilitator of change in personal lives and in our church. We seek to apply God’s Word to everyday life! 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12
We are motivated by the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We believe that spiritual gifts equip us to fulfill the call of Jesus to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. We believe we are called to send, as well as to go, starting with our own community. Matthew 28:18-20; John 17:18; Acts 1:8
We believe the church should function as a community of servants each using their gifts to love, care, bear burdens, and joyfully serve in the unity of the Spirit. We desire to do the work of ministry with a spirit of excellence that glorifies God and blesses people. Romans 12; Ephesians 4:11-13; Matthew 20:26, 23:11; Colossians 3:12-14, 23
Authentic Praise, Worship and Prayer
We believe that worship, praise and prayer are vital to the spiritual health of individuals as well as the church family. Thus, we seek to love God in vibrant praise and worship, as well as passionate Spirit-led prayer. We value learning new expressions of worship. Psalm 89:1-2, Ephesians 6:18; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 13:15
We believe that God initiated and demonstrated a love that gives when He sent His one and only Son to be our Savior. In responding to that kind of love, we believe our lives must be marked by obedient and sacrificial giving of our time, energy and finances in loving God and serving others. Matthew 10:8b, 20:28; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11
We affirm that the following values are God’s will for us and we aspire to grow strong in the biblical and behavioral expression of these values!
We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore they matter to the church. We believe that Jesus calls us to join Him as He seeks and saves the lost. Our goal is to develop effective evangelism strategies in order to introduce people to Jesus. We are compelled by his love! Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14; 2 Corinthians 5:14, 18-20
We seek to help people grow spiritually and to learn how to be a committed disciple of Jesus. We encourage believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to both discover and use their spiritual gifts. The goal we have for all people is Christ-likeness!
Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 4:19; Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 12:1
We believe that we are called by Jesus to serve the community in which God has placed us with good deeds that demonstrate the love of God. Our community is our first mission field! We are committed to use a variety of methods in order to serve those around us and prepare the spiritual soil to receive the Gospel.
Matthew 5:16; Acts 9:36; Titus 2:14, 3:14; Hebrews 10:24
